Beach Party

Beach Party Introduction - Hosting a Beach party the right way!

Beach parties are really fun. But you have to make sure that you find something that all your guests can do when they are at the party. We have several ideas for you in this series of articles on hosting a beach party. Take a quick look and find out how to host a successful beach party.

Selecting a theme- You will need to find a theme that nearly everyone likes. Take care of the fact that some guests may not like the theme you have planned if it’s too political, or too personal. Choose the right balanced topic that all your guests will. Oldie but Goldie themes like tropical theme parties, luau parties etc are still popular and they are easy to set up too.

Stocking up on party essentials- is a very important task. Please remember that your guests will be hungry as fresh beach air does increase the appetite.

  1. Stock up more than necessary in handy ice boxes or set up a temporary shack where you can store the food and keep it handy.
  2. Use easy to handle paper plates, paper cups and flatware to eat with and ensure that the area is cleaned up well.
  3. Tell your guests to carry a lot of suntan lotion if the party is held in the afternoon and a warm cover up for the night.
  4. Do remember that if you are planning to host a party on a public beach you will have to get permission from the local authorities. Loud music, shacks and even a fire must be authorized by local authorities before it can be held.
  5. Private beaches are ideal for private parties but remember that you will have to ask permission from the owners.
  6. Get a professional lifeguard to watch out for your guests or designate a person who can take care of your guests and prevent any mishap.
  7. Instruct your guests to drink enough water to prevent dehydration.
  8. Select the right music for your beach party and the theme that you have set for yourself.
  9. Tables and chairs are great if you can find them for your guests but its equally fine to have relaxed seating like beach bags, carpets, rugs, and bean bags for your guests to relax on.
  10. Keep a first-aid kit handy to take care of any problems that might crop up.

Informing guests is very essential before hand as very few people actually live close to the beach. Please invite people well in advance as they might have to travel to the beach and then commute back again late in the night or the day. If you do not want your guests to travel, arrange for accommodation where your guests can bed down for the night.

What about the hard stuff? - Alcohol is allowed on private and public beaches but please do not provide more than necessary. Wine and beer is completely fine. Skip the scotch as it’s very probable that drunken guests may fall into the ocean or the barbeque or even into small pools.

Food for the party- You will need meat and veggies and fish prepared separately. Designate one person or two who will deal with the food and the distribution. Setting up a barbeque is the best way of catering to your beach party guests. But if you don’t want that headache just the food catered.

We hope these simple beach party essentials have helped you out in setting up your beach party. Do let us know if you require more information and we will do our best to help out with more articles and tips.
